Former Carthage resident charged with Springfield armed robbery

The suspect in yesterday’s Armed Robbery at Hood’s Truck Stop has been identified as Bruce W. Vonier, a 59-year-old man from Verona, MO. (Note: Vonier is a former Carthage resident.)

Vonier has been charged with:

Count I: Robbery 1st Degree
Count II: Armed Criminal Action
No Bond
Greene County Case: 2331-CR01936









*A charge is merely an accusation. All suspects are deemed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Previous news release

This morning, Greene County Deputies responded to the 1600 Block of South State Highway K, Hood’s Truck Stop, for an armed robbery in progress. 

The suspect was described as being a white older male in his late 40s/early 50s with white hair and a white goatee. The suspect presented a weapon at the employees and demanded money from a safe. The suspect also stole the employees' cell phones. 








The suspect then fled in a red Dodge Avenger with no plates. The suspect was last seen wearing a denim jacket and jeans, a cowboy style hat, and black sunglasses.
