At 10:33 p.m. on Sept. 2, Springfield police officers were dispatched to investigate a serious injury crash involving a pedestrian near Glenstone Avenue and Evergreen Street.
A 1996 Chrysler Town and Country, driven by Todd B. Bell, 51, of Marshfield, was southbound in the outside lane of Glenstone Avenue. A pedestrian, Rebecca M. Distefano, 39, of Springfield, was westbound while crossing Glenstone, when she was struck by the vehicle. Distefano was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. At this time, she is listed in critical condition. Next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
