Parent finally located after toddler found walking down Springfield street

Update (5:36 p.m.): A parent of the child was located at approximately 5 p.m. today. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is ongoing.

Original release (4:05 p.m.): A Springfield police officer was contacted today at 12:19 p.m. by a citizen in the 700 block of W. Kerr. The citizen advised that she found an unattended female toddler walking down the street. Officers canvassed this area and have been unable to determine where or with whom the child belongs. At this time, no child has been reported missing.

The child, whose name is unknown, is approximately 2 feet tall, weighs 20 pounds and has light brown curly hair and brown eyes.
