HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE INTO EARLY THIS EVENING AS HEAT INDEX VALUES IN THE UPPER 90S TO NEAR 100 DEGREES OCCUR. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE ON THE INCREASE OVERNIGHT TONIGHT...ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS THROUGH CENTRAL MISSOURI. NO SEVERE WEATHER IS CURRENTLY ANTICIPATED...HOWEVER BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING MAY BE POSSIBLE. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. PERIODS OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR AT TIMES FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AS A COLD FRONT MOVES TOWARD AND THROUGH THE REGION. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF ONE TO THREE AND A HALF INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ALONG AND NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 44 CORRIDOR. RAINFALL RATES IN THESE AREAS MAY BE HIGH ENOUGH TO SUPPORT LOCALIZED FLOODING THURSDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.
