Springfield motorcyclist killed in two-vehicle collision

Springfield police responded to the intersection of Grand and Park at 3:39 p.m. on Aug. 24 for a crash involving a 1983 Kawasaki Motorcycle and a 2006 Chevrolet Impala.

The on-scene investigation determined that the motorcycle, operated by Robert L. Woolery, 43, of Springfield was westbound on Grand when he made a wide right turn to go north on Park into the oncoming southbound lane of traffic. Woolery and his motorcycle and were struck by the southbound Impala being operated by Abritea M. Clark, 44, of Springfield.

Woolery was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. At 11:15 a.m. today, Woolery succumbed to the injuries related to the motor vehicle crash and was pronounced deceased. There are no charges pending in this incident at this time. This marks the fifteenth fatality crash in 2016.
