Arkansas man charged with DWI, manslaughter after fatality accident near Cassville

An Arkansas man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated following an accident 11:50 p.m. Saturday, on PR 2155 five miles east of Cassville, in which a passenger in his car was killed.

According to the Highway Patrol report, William N. Bowmar, 33, Springdale, lost control of a 2013 Polaris Razor on a curve, ran off the left side of the road, and struck a tree. A passenger, Tamara D. Corn, 31, Cassville, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene by Barry County Coroner Jim Fohn.

Bowmar and two other passengers, Misty D. Bowmar, 31, Springdale, and James V. Coffman, 27, Butterfield, were taken to Cox South, Springfield, in serious condition.

In addition to involuntary manslaughter and driving while intoxicated, Bowman was charged with two accounts of second degree assault.

The fatality was the 29th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
