Portion of Elm Street to become one-way for three months beginning Monday

(From the City of Springfield)

Elm Street between Kimbrough Avenue and National Avenue will be converted to an eastbound one-way street for roughly three months beginning 7 a.m. Monday, May 22 for City Utilities crews to replace water and gas mains. Elm Street is tentatively scheduled to reopen to two-way traffic upon completion of the project in mid-August.

All street parking will be eliminated during this time. Sidewalks on the north side of Elm Street will be closed. All westbound traffic will be detoured away from construction.
