Two injured as Aurora man crashes into Highway Patrol car

Two men were injured in a two-vehicle collision 6:19 p.m. Saturday on Highway 39, at Stallion Bluff Road, one mile north of Shell Knob.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2017 Ford Explorer Highway Patrol car driven by Trooper Ryan W. Pace, 27, Springfield, with emergency lights and sirens activated passed a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Kenneth E. Shepard, 67, Aurora.

Pace was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Cassville.

Shepard was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

The report indicates the police car suffered $20,000 worth of damage and the Shepard vehicle was also totaled.
