Six people injured in three-vehicle chain reaction accident on I-44

Six people were injured in a three-vehicle chain reaction accident 1:44 p.m. today on I-44, six miles west of Springfield.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Ford Mustang driven by Scott C. Danielson, 22, Saugus, California, was slowing for traffic congestion and was struck from behind by a 2013 Chevrolet Impala driven by Courtney E. McGlathery, 34, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, causing the McGlathery vehicle to strike a 2017 GMC Acadia driven by Beth A. Hickey, 36, Edmond, Oklahoma, from behind.

McGlathery and Hickey were treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

Danielson was treated for moderate injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

Two passengers in the Hickey vehicle, Alison Hickey, 11, and Quinlyn Hickey, 7, both of Edmond, and a passenger in the McGlathery vehicle, Caleb McGlathery, 4, of Oklahoma City, were treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital.
