Members of the Springfield Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol partnered for Operation Safe Ride on the night of July 7.
The purpose of this operation was to target and enforce moving violations that are hazardous to motorcyclists.
Examples of these violations would be speeding, disobeying traffic control devices, unsafe lane changes, careless and imprudent driving and failure to yield to right of way.
The officers conducted traffic stops on 73 vehicles for various violations and issued 41 summonses and 46 warnings.
