Two Kimberling City residents were killed in a one-vehicle crash 8:40 a.m. today on MO 413, three miles south of Galena.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2019 Kia Optima driven by Kenneth F. Runge, 84, Kimberling City, failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the left side of the road, struck a tree and caught fire.
Stone County Coroner John Cunnyngham pronounced Runge and a passenger, Sharon L. Runge, 80, Kimberling City, dead at the scene at 9:02 a.m.
The fatalities were the 81st and 82nd this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
