On Feb.1, 2019 at 4:20 a.m., Springfield Police were dispatched to 1123 W. Division after a 911 caller said a person was injured at the home.
When officers arrived, they found a deceased male inside the home who appeared to have been stabbed. Investigators are currently working the scene as a homicide.
The victim was identified as David J. Edwards, a 45-year-old male from Springfield. Next of kin notifications have been made for the victim. A suspect has not been identified at this time.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
