Pierce City, Butterfield residents, including 4-year-old, injured as truck goes airborne ejects driver, passengers

Three people were seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash 2:30 p.m. today on Route Z, three miles east of Monett.

According to the Highway Patrol report, Matthew A. Hernandez, 27, Butterfield, driving a 2011 Dodge Ram failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the road, stuck a driveway and became airborne.

Hernandez and two passengers, Kathleen F. Eden, 33, and Conner D. Spencer, 4, both of Pierce City, none of whom were wearing seat belts, were ejected. They were taken to Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
