Teen killed, four injured in crash on 76

One person was killed and four injured in a two-vehicle crash 10:24 a.m. today on MO 76, two miles west of Branson.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2009 Dodge Caravan driven by Carlos G. Garate, 41, Emporia, Kansas, slowed to make a left turn and was struck in the rear by a 2006 Toyota Tundra driven by Gideon M. Dunn, 37, Branson.

A passenger in the Garate vehicle, Ace Garate, 13, Emporia, was pronounced dead at 11:39 a.m. by Dr. Todd Baker, at Cox Hospital, Branson.








Garate and three other passengers, Alina B. Garate, 64, Amy Garate, 37, and Mercedes Garate, 64, all of Emporia, were treated for minor injuries at Cox Hospital.

The fatality was the 34th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
