Suspect arrested for peace disturbance following threatening social media post on Springfield graduation

On May 9, 2019, the Springfield Police Department was contacted by the Springfield Public Schools Police Department after they were made aware of a social media post concerning graduation scheduled that evening.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division immediately began investigating the situation and were able to identify and contact the individual who made the post.








The male suspect cooperated with the investigation but was arrested for Peace Disturbance. 

The case is still being investigated at this time and will be presented to the Greene County Prosecutor's Office for consideration of charges. 

The Greene County Sheriff's Office and Springfield Public Schools Police Department assisted in this investigation.
