Eleven-year-old killed in crash on 65

On May 13th, at approximately 7:05 p.m., the Springfield Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at 1610 N. US 65 involving two vehicles.

A black Dodge Durango operated by Mikaila Koch, 17, of Bolivar, Missouri was northbound on US 65 when it struck the rear of a white 2016 Chevy Cruze operated by Clorissa Tilden, 37, of Reeds Springs, Missouri.

The Chevy Cruze went off the roadway and struck a guardrail killing an 11-year old female passenger. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Tilden and a 16-year-old passenger were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.








The investigation is on-going. Next of kin have been notified and impairment was not believed to be a factor in this crash.

The Springfield Police Department expresses its condolences to the family.

This marks the fourth fatality crash in Springfield in 2019.
