(From the Springfield Police Department)Sunday afternoon, officers responded to a robbery and an assault in the 5600 block of S. Lakeridge.
When officers arrived, a man with stab wounds was being treated by paramedics. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries but is currently in stable condition.
During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Jacob A. Miller, 36, of Springfield.
Miller assaulted the victim as he entered the victim’s home. He stole items from the home then fled the scene.
Later in the day, officers were notified that the victim’s stolen credit card was used at a nearby business. Officers responded and located Miller in the area with the stolen items.
Miller was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail for possession of stolen property and 1st degree assault as well as numerous active warrants.
