According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Cadillac Deville driven by Dale D. Messmer, 69, Cape Fair, was attempting to pass another vehicle and struck a motorcycle driven by Nathan D. Brookshire, 19, Ozark, which was attempting to pass the Messmer vehicle.
Stone County Coroner John Cunningham pronounced Brookshire dead at the scene at 8:36 p.m.
The fatality was the 41st this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
