A Branson man was killed in an accident 11:15 p.m. Sunday on Cougar Trail East, one mile east of Branson.
According to the Highway Patrol report, Darron K. Agawa, 47, Papillion, Nebraska, was trying to unhook a trailer from a 2016 GMC Yukon. Eric L. Richards, 52, Branson, was standing between the vehicle and the trailer when the trailer unhooked and started to roll back.
Agawa left the vehicle to help Richards, but failed to put the vehicle in park. The vehicle rolled over Richards.
Taney County Coroner Larry Summers pronounced Richards dead at the scene.
The fatality was the 67th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
