A Springfield teen was killed in a one-vehicle accident 1:58 a.m. today on Route D two miles north of Rogersville.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2020 BMW X3 driven by Benjamin C. Sugg, 18, went off the roadway and overturned.
A passenger, a 17-year-old Springfield boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another passenger, Jacob W. Zimmerman, 18, Rogersville, was treated for minor injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
Zimmerman was charged with felony driving while intoxicated involving a death, felony leaving the scene of a crash, careless and imprudent driving and minor visibly intoxicated.
The fatality was the 73rd this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
