A Willard woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident 7:56 p.m. Thursday on MO 96, three miles south of Miller.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Saturn SC1 Coupe driven by April A. Brake, 39, Willard, crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2016 Freightliner driven by Bruce E. Hargis, 59, Coffeyville, Kansas, head on.
Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin pronounced Brake dead at the scene at 8:20 p.m.
The fatality was the 28th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
