Aurora man, Rogersville woman airlifted to Mercy following accident near Shell Knob

Two people were injured in a one-vehicle accident 4:50 p.m. Sunday on Highway 39, two miles north of Shell Knob.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Chevrolet truck driven by Sheridan Ponder, 20, Aurora, left the roadway, struck the guard rail and overturned.

Ponder and a passenger, Breanna D. Briggs, 19, Rogersville, were airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.
