Springfield woman killed crashing into tree at 1003 W. Sunset

The Springfield Police Department was dispatched to an injury car crash at 1003 W. Sunset at 10:48 a.m. on June 18. 

 A Nissan Sentra driven by Vanessa Johnson, 53, was traveling westbound on Sunset when it left the roadway and struck a tree in the median. Johnson was transported to a hospital where she died of her injuries. Next of kin has been notified.

This marks the eighth fatality crash in Springfield for 2017.
