Route 60 Railroad Crossing Safety Study Begins with Listening Sessions
In Republic, Billings & Marionville

Greene, Christian & Lawrence Counties – The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking input from area residents in Republic, Billings and Marionville for a safety study of railroad crossings along Route 60.

The study is focused on railroad crossings along Route 60 between Greene County Route MM in Republic and County Road 1210 west of Marionville.

The listening sessions are planned for the following times, dates, and locations:
6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11 at the Republic Community Center, 711 E. Miller Road
6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Marionville Elementary School Cafeteria, 200 W. Odell Street
6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Billings City Hall, 202 NE Elm Street

The listening sessions will be come-and-go style with NO FORMAL PRESENTATION planned.

At each session, MoDOT representatives will visit with residents and get their input on safety at the crossings. The information gathered will help prioritize possible future improvements. However, there are no timelines for when, or if, improvements will be made. The projects will be constructed if funding becomes available.

Those interested in the topic are encouraged to take the survey that is included on the webpage. Residents are encouraged to ONLY fill out the survey that pertains to their community.
