According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2007 Lexus ES350 driven by Joshua M. Carter, 37, Seligman, ran off the left side of the road and struck several trees.
Carter was taken to Mercy Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.
A passenger, Jennifer J. White, 37, Republic, was treated for serious injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
