Monett man killed, four people injured including baby, in head-on collision on 39

A Monett man was killed and four people injured in a two-vehicle collision 4:30 p.m. Sunday on MO 39, two miles south of South Greenfield.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2010 Mercury Milan driven by La Kre Htoo, 27, Monett, crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country driven by a 16-year-old Everton girl head on.

Dade County Coroner Gary Banta pronounced Htoo dead at the scene.








A passenger in the Htoo vehicle, Mular T. Ehku, 27, Monett, was treated for serious injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

The 16-year-old and a passenger in her vehicle, Tish M. Turpin, 40, Everton, were treated for serious injuries a one-year-old boy for minor injuries at Cox South.
