In accordance with the family’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held for fallen Springfield Police Officer Christopher Walsh on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be directly followed by a procession as Officer Walsh’s body is transported to Rivermonte Memorial Gardens at 4500 S. Lone Pine Ave.for burial with full honors.
Other law enforcement agencies are invited to participate. Please arrive to the parking lot at New Covenant Academy (3304 S Cox Ave.) by 1:30 p.m.
Members of the public are invited to view the procession from Battlefield Rd.at Kansas Expressway to Lone Pine, it is expected to begin around 2:30 p.m.
The burial will take place at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens’ Veterans II lot and will be live-streamed on the Springfield Police Department Facebook Page (@SGFPolice).
The Walsh family is thankful for the outpouring of support and they are grateful to those who have shared their condolences.
