Fair Grove residents killed in head-on collision in Camden County

Two Fair Grove residents were killed in a two-vehicle collision 11 a.m. today on MO 5 in Camden County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2019 Ford F-250 driven by James W. Hill, Holts Summit, crossed the center line and struck a 2005 Toyota Tundra driven by John F. Slaven, 50, Fair Grove.

A passenger in the Slaven vehicle, Cheryl M. Barton, 49, Fair Grove, was pronounced dead at the scene by medical examiner Ashley Haslag at 12:07 p.m.







Dr. Todd Cooper pronounced Slaven dead at Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, at 12:17 p.m.

Hill was treated for moderate injuries at Lake Regional Hospital.

The fatalities were the second and third this year for Highway Patrol Troop F and the eighth and ninth fatalities for the year.
