According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 GMC Terrain driven by a 16-year-old Powersite girl crossed the center line. The driver overcorrected, the vehicle began skidding, ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a guy wire, overturned and came to rest on its top.
Taney County Coroner Kent Vanderpool pronounced the girl dead at the scene at 1:40 a.m.
The fatality was the 29th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
