Billings pedestrian struck, seriously injured, by teen driver while checking on injured animal

A Billings man was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a car 5:50 p.m. Saturday on Farm Road 164, one mile north of Republic.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2003 Infiniti G35 driven by 16-year-old Republic boy struck Phillip E. Lucero, 52, Billings, after Lucero left his car to check on an injured animal in the roadway.

Lucero was taken to Cox South Hospital, Springfield, with serious injuries.
