Highway Patrol makes two felony arrests during Motor Carrier Safety operation in Greene County

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program SAFETE operation in Greene County on May 22, 2018.

During the operation, troopers stopped nine commercial vehicles and five passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted nine commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in one driver being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Driver’s License Citation -- 1
Speed Violations -- 2
Seat Belt Violations -- 5
Felony Warrant Arrests -- 2

Troopers also issued 17 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint.
