Highway Patrol announces results of motor carrier safety operation in Greene, Lawrence counties

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of a three-day Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program SAFETE operation in Greene and Lawrence counties on May 14-16, 2018.

During the operation in Greene County on May 14, troopers stopped 23 commercial vehicles and 10 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 22 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in three vehicles and one driver being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Seat Belt Violations -- 5

Troopers also issued 50 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

During the operation in Greene County on May 15, troopers stopped 21 commercial vehicles and eight passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 21 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in two vehicles and one driver being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Troopers also issued 44 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.

During the operation in Lawrence County on May 16, troopers stopped 34 commercial vehicles and 11 passenger vehicles. Additionally, troopers conducted 33 commercial vehicle inspections which resulted in two drivers being placed out-of-service. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the operation.

Troopers issued 56 warnings for various other offenses during this operation.
