(From the Springfield Police Department)On Oct. 28, 2023, at 9:59 p.m., Springfield police officers responded to a victim with gunshot wounds in the 2400 block of S. Sheridan Boulevard. It was reported that multiple shots were fired during an argument in the street.
Officers found Jacob Gatten, 33, from Springfield, lying on the street with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital where he later died. Gatten’s family has been notified.
Tanine Punyamra, 19, of Springfield (pictured above) and a juvenile suspect were identified. Both were taken into custody. The case is being presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office and the Greene County Juvenile Office for review and a determination on filing criminal charges.
