Springfield Police investigate reports of shots fired, windows broken

Early Sunday morning, officers responded to the report of shots fired and cars fleeing in the 400 block of E. Cozy. Officers found evidence of gun shots.
 
During the investigation, officers identified one of the vehicles involved and later conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle’s driver was in possession of a handgun, which was seized by officers.

Officers responded to a report of vandalism on Monday night last week in the 800 block of W. Brower.

The victim reported several windows were broken at the home by Nicholas Oestreich, 34, who was looking for a woman. At that time, Oestreich was not located.







 
Later that night, officers responded to a local hospital where Oestreich had been contacted by security looking for a woman.
 
Oestreich was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail for 1st degree property damage.
