A Springfield man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 1 p.m. Sunday on County Road East 676 six miles north of Stockton.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Honda Accord driven by Daniel R. Davis, 28, Springfield, traveled off the roadway, down an embankment and struck a tree.
Cedar County Deputy Coroner Ron Brown pronounced Davis dead at the scene at 2:45 p.m.
The fatality was the 116th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
