(From the Springfield Police Department)On Oct. 14, 2023, at 10:54 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash at Sunshine and National.
Andrew Irizarry-Sierra, 38, of Springfield, was driving a black 2014 Ford Taurus east on Sunshine when he collided with the rear of a stationary purple 2016 Toyota Rav 4.
The Rav 4 was driven by Glen Westerhouse, 28, of Springfield, and Domingues Buenrostro, 26, of Springfield was a passenger. The Rav 4 was facing eastbound on Sunshine when the Taurus struck it in the passenger rear corner. Irizarry-Sierra and Westerhouse were transported to the hospital for their injuries.
Buenrostro was also transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Buenrostro’s family has been notified.

Speed is believed to be a factor in this crash.
The investigation is ongoing as to the circumstances involved in the crash. This was Springfield’s 22nd fatal motor vehicle crash in 2023.
