A Milo man was killed in a two-vehicle collision 3:25 p.m. today on I-44, one mile east of Halltown.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2012 International tractor-trailer driven by Randy R. Pierson, 63, Collins, was slowing in traffic due to an accident was rear-ended by a 2005 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Neal F. Stroud, 64, Milo.
Dr. Thomas Lewis pronounced Stroud dead 4:48 p.m. at Mercy Hospital, Springfield.
The fatality was the 74th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
