Forgery report to Springfield Police leads to chase, crash, two arrests

(From the Springfield Police Department)

On 8/13/18 at 1114 a.m., officers were dispatched to 525 S. Glenstone (EZ Money) on a forgery call.

A female suspect was reportedly in the business attempting to forge a check. Officers arrived on scene and the female suspect was taken into custody. While there, a second suspect arrived on scene driving a blue dodge pickup. The second suspect, a male, had dropped the female off at the business.

When officers attempted to detain him, he fled the scene in his vehicle at a high rate of speed. He lost control of his vehicle near the intersection of Pickwick and Grand, causing a crash with another vehicle on the roadway and two parked vehicles.

The male suspect then fled on foot. Officers arrived on scene and, after a short foot pursuit, apprehended the male suspect. There were no serious injuries in the motor vehicle accident and both suspects are currently in custody.

Christina Allen, the female suspect, was arrested for forgery. The male suspect, Brandon Proserpi, was arrested on outstanding warrants. Both were booked into the Greene County Jail.
