Lebanon High School drama teacher charged with having sex with student, given suspended sentence

A Lebanon High School drama teacher who was arrested January 12 for having a sexual relationship with a student pleaded guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge of harassment in the second degree and was given a suspended sentenced today in Laclede County Circuit Court.

The original charge was sexual contact with a student.

The Lebanon R-3 School District suspended Elizabeth Morgan, 31, January 5 and the Board of Education unanimously fired her 17 days later.


The Lebanon Police Department arrested Morgan after interviewing witnesses and reviewing electronic evidence.

Morgan was given a one-year sentence in the Laclede County, then Judge Larry Winfrey suspended the sentence and placed her on supervised probation for two years.
