A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Valley Watermill Road at Fremont Avenue, a quarter of a mile from Springfield.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a westbound 2001 Chevrolet S-10 driven by Nathan E. Wolf, 60, Springfield, struck a pedestrian, Hubert L. House, 78, Springfield, who was walking in the westbound lane.
Greene County Medical Examiner Tom Vandeberg pronounced House dead at the scene at 5:30 p.m.
The fatality was the 106th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
