MODOT announces new district engineer for Southwest District

The Missouri Department of Transportation announced the appointment of Travis Koestner as the Southwest District’s new District Engineer. Travis formerly served as the Assistant District Engineer for MoDOT’s Central District office in Jefferson City.

Koestner met with employees in the Southwest District today (December 1), and stated, “This is a great honor and I’m looking forward to working with the southwest team and community to maintain the high-level of service in the region. My focus will be maintaining the reliability and safety of the system along with advancing economic development efforts for this part of the state. My family and I are excited about relocating to this part of the state and enjoying the great outdoor options available in southwest Missouri.”

Koestner has spent 12 years working in statewide positions, and has represented MoDOT nationally on the Transportation Estimator Association, AASHTO Committee on Cost Estimating and as a panel member for NCHRP Pavement Type. He brings 22 years of MoDOT service and a true passion for work to this new assignment.
