Teen driver runs red light, collides with car killing 9-year-old Nixa boy


A Nixa boy was killed and four people injured in a two-vehicle collision 9:10 p.m. Wednesday on U. S. 160 at Northview in Nixa.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a Dodge Charger driven by a 16-year-old Nixa boy, traveling at a high rate of speed, failed to stop at a red light and struck the side of a 2017 Toyota Sienna driven by Ashley M. Finley, 40, Nixa.

Christian County Coroner Mandi Armitage pronounced a 9-year-old boy who was a passenger in the Finley vehicle, dead at the scene at 9:50 p.m.







Finley was taken to Mercy Springfield with serious injuries.

The 16-year-old driver was treated for serious injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.

A passenger in his vehicle, Spencer Davis, 18, Nixa was treated for minor injuries at Cox South.

A 12-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Finley vehicle was treated for moderate injuries at Cox South.
