A Hollister man was killed in a two-vehicle accident 3:54 p.m. Wednesday on U. S. 160 at Homestead Acres Road, two miles west of Walnut Shade.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2010 Ford Taurus driven by Kenneth E. Tillman, 31, Merriam Woods, traveled off the right side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, began to slide, crossed the center line and struck a 2010 Ford Taurus driven by Caleb I. Hawley, 23, Hollister, head on.
Taney County Coroner Kent Vanderpool declared Hawley dead at 4:56 p.m.
Tillman was treated for serious injuries at Cox South Hospital, Springfield.
The fatality was the 57th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
