First degree murder, robbery charges filed against Springfield man in Anchor Tactical shooting

On July 7, 2022, following the review of the homicide case that happened yesterday on S. Campbell Ave., the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office is charging Zachary Cano (top photo) with 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Stealing with no bond. 

Jonathan Peace is charged with multiple counts of Felony Stealing with a bond of $500,000.






 

The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office cautions that the charges contained in the felony complaint are merely allegations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.

PREVIOUS RELEASE:

On July 6, 2022, at approximately 9:03 a.m., the Springfield Police Department was dispatched to Anchor Tactical at 2346 S. Campbell Ave., to investigate a shooting.

When officers arrived, they located a male employee, identified as Colin D. Loderhose, 25, from Springfield, with a gunshot wound. Loderhose was transported to a local hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries. Loderhose’s family has been notified.

After the shooting, two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, which was followed by a citizen who called 911 and provided a vehicle description. Responding officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Kensington Park Apartments at 1303 S. Lexington. The suspects were standing outside of the vehicle and were both taken into custody without incident.






 

The suspects were identified as Jonathan C. Peace, 20, and Zachary A. Cano, 20, both from Springfield. They were arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail. Peace was arrested for felony stealing and Cano was arrested for 2nd degree murder.

The Springfield Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating this incident and will present the case to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for review and the filing of formal charges.
