Barry County Sheriff: Escapees reportedly no longer in area

Update on the escaped inmates: The situation was turned over to the U.S. Marshals on Friday to conduct the search for the escaped inmates. 

As of right now from what we have learned, all escapees are not in the area and are still being sought by the Marshals at this time. 

If you have any information on where the suspects are or where they are heading we welcome your tips and they will be passed on to the Marshals.









Earlier news release

In the early morning hours the Barry County Sheriff’s Office had three inmates escape from the Barry County Jail.

Matthew Allen Crawford
Christopher Allen Blevins

If you know the whereabouts or see these three males please contact 911 immediately. Do not approach the subjects.

Subjects should be considered armed and dangerous.

(Note- According to online Barry County Circuit Court records, Stephens is awaiting trial for delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. Crawford is awaiting trial on a felony stealing charge and Blevins is charged with possession of a controlled substance, four counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, five counts of unlawful use of a weapon and single counts of resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.)
