Aurora motorcyclist killed in collision with hit-and-run driver

An Aurora man was killed in a two-vehicle collision 10:24 a.m. today on Farm Road 1180, three and a half miles west of Jenkins.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Chevrolet 2500, driver unknown, failed to yield to a 2021 Kawasaki ZX10R driven by Patrick E. Anderson, 38, Aurora. The car struck the motorcycle then fled the scene.

Barry County Coroner Gary Swearingin pronounced Anderson dead at the scene at 1:20 p.m.

The fatality was the 45th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
