Springfield police were dispatched to 408 S. Patterson at 8:23 A.M., on September 10, 2018, after a 911 caller requested officers to check the well being of a male subject in a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a deceased male victim with apparent gunshot wound inside the vehicle.
The victim was identified as Joshua S. Brooks, a 40-year-old male from Republic. Next of kin notifications have been made for the victim.
The suspect was identified as Christina M. Duckett, a 33-year-old female from Springfield. On Wednesday, September 12, 2018, Duckett was arrested by Springfield Police Officers in Springfield. The Greene County Prosecutors Office filed charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action. Duckett is currently being held in the Greene County Jail with a bond of $250,000.00.
