Springfield police were dispatched to 3235 W. Madison at 1:36 A.M., on September 12, 2018, after a 911 caller stated he had shot a male subject who had broken into his house.
When officers arrived, they found a male deceased inside the residence with an apparent gunshot wound.
The deceased male was identified as Christopher A. Seitz, a 36-year-old male from Springfield. Next of kin notifications have been made.

The home owner has been identified but no arrest has been made.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-8477.
