Greene County Sheriff captures fleeing man on felony drug trafficking charge, pit bull escapes

(From the Greene County Sheriff's Office)

Sheriff Jim C Arnott and Major Corcoran drove upon an injury accident at Kansas Expressway and Division Street. The man who caused the accident, fled on foot, west bound with his pit bull dog in hand.

Sheriff Arnott observed the male attempting to hide between two houses. Sheriff Arnott stepped out of his vehicle and identified himself, telling the male to get on the ground. Instead of complying with orders, the male jumped a fence and began running through a yard. Sheriff Arnott was hot on his heels, the male ran towards the front yard when he was tackled by Sheriff Arnott.

The male was identified and found to have felony warrants for distribution/delivery/manufacturing of a controlled substance. The suspect admitted to being on federal probation and said, “I ran because I’m going to prison for life!” Live PD on A&E

We do not know where the pit bull dog ran off to.
