Verona woman killed in three-vehicle accident near Monett, husband seriously injured

A Verona woman was killed and her husband seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident 7 p.m. Saturday on U. S. 60, one-tenth of a mile east of Monett.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1999 Ford Taurus driven by Cecelia M. Miller, 68, Purdy, failed to yield and pulled into the path of a 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Tommy W. Summer, 43, Verona.

Both vehicles spun onto a farm road and the motorcycle struck a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Trevor S. Bray, 37, Highlandville.


A passenger on the Summers vehicle, Heidi C. Summers, 46, Verona, was pronounced dead at Cox South Hospital.

Summers was treated for serious injuries at Cox South.
